CHAPTER 9
It was the weird smell or the weird way a house stood in the middle of the forest that made the five of them glitch and stand stunned. The forest, which had nothing but trees, suddenly appeared to have a house; first, it was an old, almost made-up of every waste material found, now it is a real house, it is made of bricks and stones. The house looked small yet somehow fancy for being in the middle of the forest. How the hell did they find the right materials?? This forest seems resource-rich, but how much longer did it take to discover anything from this place?? It is the Vivid Forest, but it is only vivid for some time; later, it becomes a real maze. The forest always made foreigners gasp; they tried to explore the paranormal activities and state the real truth, but somehow none of them found their way back. This knowledge was enough to freak out the islanders; they started making up stories that sounded totally not credible, it even featured phantoms and ghosts which sway around holding a brisk chandelier. No one understood why it is a chandelier??, but it still made the story interesting enough to listen to for the sake of the delusional grandparents.
The smell irked and pricked their nose severely; the smell was acrid and overpowering and it spread around at full tilt, making the place suddenly dark and ominous. The smoke was all around them; it made them choke and cry; they placed their hands in their mouths and coughed so badly. The smoke, without warning, kept spreading and covering the place, causing the birds to fly around in chaos. The trees were partially visible with just some green which turned grey due to the smoke; their eyes were watery, their throat sore and threatened, their body begging for oxygen; they suffered and questioned how this happened?? All they ever remembered was that they successfully crossed the slope and were readily heading to the house!! But why did they get surrounded by this intolerable thick grey smoke?
They looked here and there with great difficulty, weeping and groaning; they prayed and begged, but nothing seemed good. They yelled for help with their strained voice, which echoed throughout the forest. They couldn’t see anything, and they were about to collapse; the smoke grew thicker and suddenly a whirring sound, loud and near, lifted their spirits. They, who were at the brink of collapsing, came to life on hearing that sound; the smoke suddenly started swirling and they started disappearing somewhere as if pulled by a wormhole. The air was clear and they could see the light of the day; they still never stopped choking and coughing on their knees; they inhaled a lot of smoke; few of them managed to hold their breath for a few minutes, but Sander, the victim to any danger, inhaled a dangerous amount of smoke.
Foggy, vague sight, falling into deep thoughts, begging to live, nostalgia, all of these feelings which you feel before entering the heaven’s door came to them. It was as if they were going to be out of here sooner or later, but Sander was seriously in trouble; his eyes red as blood, well it was blood. His throat was seriously sore; he couldn’t get up. Two people with a first aid kit and a person who knew a little bit of medical and was a trainee aided them. The trainee helped Sander and the rest; he was able to help them with his spare oxygen masks. Endemi, Hernuil, and Chrise were safe and were back to consciousness; they were out of trouble; they managed to escape death by a narrow escape. Melborn is not in danger to die but will have to face some health problems in the future. But Sander already fainted, breathing heavily into the oxygen mask. Tears ran from his eyes and he was coughing out blood.
The trainee said, “I don’t know about the amount he inhaled, but he must be in serious trouble; he needs immediate care”.
Chrise said panicking “he won’t die right? he will live right?”.
The trainee said “I am so sorry but I can’t tell, I have enough equipments to help him but I am just a trainee, I will try my best to save your friend”.
Chrise tsked and tears ran down; he fell down to his knees in despair. This situation was totally mysterious; what the hell happened here?? And why does that always have to be Sander?
Endemi cried at the sight of her two best friends, “why?? He is not going to die, right? He has always been there, always having that broad smile, always being so cheerful. That idiot is the only one who could make me laugh and also the only one who could make me mad”.
She cried and screamed at the sky, falling into deep despair.
This was not what they wanted; they always wanted to smile and have fun; won’t those days where they never cared about anything come back?? Sitting in a circle, sharing their lunch, talking about nonsense stuff while not caring about anything around them. They just loved to be happy; they didn’t like serious situations; having fun with their family, fighting with their parents, and getting hugged later. All of these times, will it come back?? Melborn, who had an oxygen mask covering her mouth, was taken inside as well; she was alive but her future was uncertain. Hernuil sat there, his hands on his face; he couldn’t understand; he has never felt this kind of pricking and heavy pain in his heart; it was thumping loud and he could feel it; he wanted to cry.He couldn’t watch the last people whom he cared for being taken away. He could see the blood; it reminded him of old pain; he couldn’t stand to watch this. What if he died?? Will we ever be the kind of person who would always be cheerful.
IS THIS THE END?? WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED? This question lingered in everyone’s heart!!
WELL WHAT DO YOU THINK WILL HAPPEN?? DID YOU ENJOY IT?? PLEASE PUT YOUR THOUGHTS IN THE COMMENTS!! I HOPE SOMEONE READS THIS!!
